About Us

My name is Bryan, my wife, Julie and I retired in 2025 at ages 63 and 62 respectively, on a limited income. We didn’t have the 401k, stocks, or the retirement accounts everyone talks about that you should have in order to retire.

What we did have was a plan — Social Security, a small pension, and a realistic understanding of our finances and limits.

Retirement for us is about having the ability to move about more freely, to do what we want, when we want within the limits of our budget and not being tied ot a specific time to have to be somewhere to go to work — it’s about attention to dollars, financial systems, and living within our available income.

This site shares what that kind of retirement actually looks like.

No hype.
No guarantees.
Just real decisions, real numbers, and steady habits that reduce stress.

If you’re living mostly on Social Security and trying to find your way into or through retirement on a limited income, you’re in the right place.

Why Trust Us?

We’re not financial professionals or retirement influencers — we’re two people who’ve lived through raising seven children on mostly one income, running a small business, carrying and paying off debt, losing income suddenly, and rebuilding carefully over time.

What we share here comes from lived experience — what’s worked or is working for us, what hasn’t, and what brings peace when money is limited. Our goal isn’t to impress, but to help you feel more comfortable and less alone as you navigate your own retirement path.
